Georgetown University Hospital Recruiting Study Participants Interested in Breast Augmentation
A group of surgeons led by Scott L. Spear, M.D., Professor and Chief, Dept. Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital are recruiting patients to evaluate the use of fat transplantation for breast augmentation. This is an alternative to breast implants for breast augmentation that has been implemented by a select number of plastic surgeons in the U.S. for the past several years.
The goal of the study to offer a safe effective natural result those interested in breast augmentation. Eligible participants should be between 20 and 50 years of age. They will be required to undergo liposuction to harvest fat for the breast augmentation. Then, the harvested fat will be injected into the breasts. Participants will also need to submit to a mammogram, MRI and photographs.
Candidates may not be permitted to participate if they have had previous breast surgeries, advanced fibrocystic disease, protease inhibitors, and select medical or psychological conditions. To be screened for candidacy, contact the office of Scott Spears, M.D. at 202-444-8612 or spears@gunet.georgetown.edu.
